Fall is here and as the weather cools, the fishing keeps getting hotter!
I’m sure that most of you already know about the work that is taking place at South Holston dam. The sluice flows from South Holston are absolutely perfect fishing. Weekdays, the TVA has increased the flows making it possible to float the river and the fish love this increased flow. On the weekends, the TVA sluices approximately 350cfs making wade fishing phenomenal.
The Watauga river is fishing good as well. We’ve been mostly nymphing. We’re starting to see a few blue winged olives here and there, not a big hatch yet; but, this cooler weather should get the BWOs started.
